BIG
Anniversaries & Milestones to Celebrate

While we're excited to welcome new things, we're also honored to celebrate several major anniversaries including:

Historic Travellers Rest | 225th
Historic Travellers Rest

Historic Travellers Rest is celebrating its 225th year as the oldest historic house open to the public in Nashville. Originally built by John Overton in 1779, Overton obtained an appointment from President George Washington to become Supervisor of the Revenue for the District of Tennessee and later became a traveling circuit court judge. Through Overton’s close friendship with Andrew Jackson and association with Nashville political leaders, the group helped launch Jackson as the first President of the United States from Tennessee. Today, Travellers Rest is one of only a few Federal period houses in Tennessee open to the public. It hosts visitors worldwide who learn the evolution of Nashville's history from its pre-contact beginnings through the New South period.
