Nashville has long been a proud sister city to Taiyuan and Chengdu, China, and Kamakura, Japan. The partnership between these and other international cities has strengthened Music City’s connection to the world through education and events. In the last 10 years, Music City has planted 1,000 Japanese cherry blossom trees in partnership with its sister city and hosts an annual Cherry Blossom Festival each Spring to celebrate this cultural connection.

Lily Saito
Lily Saito began her training at the School of American Ballet, where she had the privilege of performing at Lincoln Center for three years as a child in George Balanchine’s Nutcracker. She then trained at Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School and Ellison Ballet before joining Washington Ballet as a full scholarship trainee. Saito joined Nashville Ballet in 2018. Since then, she has performed roles in Paul Vasterling’s Carmina Burana, Seasons, Nashville’s Nutcracker, and Swan Lake.
