NASHVILLE, Tenn. (November 17, 2023) –The Grand Ole Opry is going to “Go Dolly” again on January 19. Opry Goes Dolly will celebrate Opry member Dolly Parton, country music’s greatest global ambassador and an artist who takes the Opry with her wherever she goes. Opry Goes Dolly, a one-of-a-kind Opry show that falls on her actual birthday will be held at the historic Ryman Auditorium and is the second straight year the show has celebrated the icon’s birthday. While Parton will not appear in-person, the Friday night Opry will feature special guest artists performing their favorite Dolly hits, Dolly-themed events, photo-ops and more. Among those scheduled for the Opry Goes Dolly show are Dolly fans Ashley Monroe and Tigirlily Gold, with more to be announced soon.
Beginning today, $5 from every ticket sold to the January 19 show will be donated to the Opry Trust Fund in Parton’s honor. For more than 50 years, the fund has assisted members of the country music community in need.
Among other plans in celebration of Dolly’s birthday:
- Birthday treats baked using Duncan Hines Dolly Parton’s mixes given to Opry House and Ryman tour guests on Dolly’s January 19 birthday (while supplies last)
- A larger-than-life birthday card for fans to sign at the Ryman Auditorium and Opry House on Jan. 19
- Dolly impersonator on Ryman Plaza for photos during Jan. 19 Opry Goes Dolly show
- Signature Dolly drinks at all Ryman bars during Jan. 19 Opry Goes Dolly show
