USA BMX and Music City BMX to Honor Military Over Memorial Weekend at the Music City Nationals

 In conjunction with Military Appreciation Month and the Music City Nationals, USA BMX will be honoring military, their families and first responders with activities and tributes throughout the weekend’s race at Music City BMX from May 24 - 26 in Nashville, TN.

Gilbert, Ariz., May 16, 2019 — In conjunction with Military Appreciation Month and the Music City Nationals, USA BMX will be honoring military, their families and first responders with activities and tributes throughout the weekend’s race at Music City BMX from May 24 - 26 in Nashville, TN. Music City BMX will welcome guest of honor, Captain Jon Turnbull, who was severely injured in a terrorist attack overseas this past January. He will be joined by his wife, Samantha, and his son, Ian, who will be traveling to Nashville for the event. In addition, USA BMX will be selling limited-edition jerseys where net proceeds will benefit the Gary Sinise Foundation - an organization with the mission of “we serve our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families and those in need”.

The jerseys will sell for $60 (plus shipping) and can be purchased here from now through May 31. All net proceeds of the jersey sales will benefit the Sinise Foundation who is working with Jon Turnbull's family to modify his home after his injuries.

The weekend’s racing competition will include pros and amateurs from all over the country -  including Olympic Gold Medalist, Connor Fields - with a special opening ceremony with veteran riders lining the track.  

Schedule for the weekend at Music City BMX:

Friday, May 24 -  Races begin at 1:00 p.m.

Saturday, May 25 -  Military Tribute and Opening Ceremonies at 11:20 a.m. Races begin at 11:30 a.m.

Sunday, May 26 -  Races begin at 8:00 a.m.

Tennessee boasts six tracks in these cities for young riders to get their start in BMX Racing: Cleveland, Ducktown, Jackson, Memphis, Morrison, Nashville.
