Kick off winter at New Year’s Eve in Music City with live music, fireworks, and the signature Music Note Drop at the Jack Daniel’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash. Four-time GRAMMY award-winning Keith Urban will co-host and headline the live event alongside country superstars Kane Brown, Jelly Roll, Shaboozey and Brittney Spencer at the FREE mainstage event at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park.
Visitors can warm up by stepping into music history at one of Nashville’s many music museums or experience the Grand Ole Opry as it celebrate 100 years. Plan a trip over the long January weekend to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Jan. 20) at cultural attractions and events around the city, including the Civil Rights Room at the Nashville Public Library or the MLK, A Celebration in Song with Mickey Guyton and the Nashville Symphony at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
Explore the city’s art and culture scene at the largest Chinese lantern festival in the United States at Nashville Zoo’s Zoolumination (through Feb. 9) or the Frist Art Museum to see displays of artwork and expressions from different global regions and cultures such as Journey through Japan: Myths to Manga - Frist Art Museum (through Feb. 16) and M. February kicks off on a high note with the city’s inaugural 615 Indie Live on Feb. 1, celebrating independent music venues and local artists with a full day dedicated to music. More than 40 local artists and bands, from indie rock and country to hip-hop and jazz, will perform at 14 music venues around the city. A $15 ticket will provide visitors with a true Music City experience and the opportunity to enjoy multiple performances during the day-long celebration. Proceeds support Music Venue Alliance Nashville and its Emergency Relief Fund.
During the month of February, visitors and locals alike can honor Black History Month at one of the many museums, attractions and local businesses. All age groups can discover special events at the National Museum of African American Music, the Tennessee State Museum, and the Nashville Public Library, where you can find the Civil Rights Room. In addition, visitors can commemorate Black History Month by purchasing a ticket package that includes the Night Train to Nashville: Music City Rhythm & Blues Revisited exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, the National Museum of African American Music and the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum, where you can find the Motown Exhibit: The Sound of Young America, the Jimi Hendrix Exhibit, among others.
Dine Nashville: The Music City Way returns for the 4th consecutive year in February 2025. During the month-long celebration, visitors can experience diverse culinary creations to include one-of-a-kind ticketed Chef Collaborations and Specialty Items & Offerings. Dine Nashville culminates with Restaurant Week (Feb. 24 – Mar. 2), offering pre-fixed menus for brunch, lunch or dinner at participating restaurants across the city. Nashville turns up the heat with sports action this winter, when you can experience the energy of an NHL Nashville Predators or witness world-class women’s basketball talent at the Athletes Unlimited Professional Women’s Basketball Tournament (Feb. 5 – Mar. 2). The month-long basketball event will feature 40 of the world’s top women players competing for the championship. Fans can learn more about the tournament and purchase tickets here.
Visitors can also take advantage of the long Presidents Day weekend with a romantic getaway to enjoy fine dining and creative experiences for Valentine’s Day.
