New York's Iconic Philippe Chow Opening in Nashville's Station District

The restaurant known for opulent Beijing-Style cuisine will debut at Cummins Station in 2024.

Nashville, TN (June 26, 2023) – The renowned Philippe Chow is continuing its global expansion with a new restaurant at DZL’s Cummins Station at 209 10th Avenue in Nashville. The new restaurant will be situated on 10th Avenue near Demonbreun, joining other world-class dining and entertainment options in the Station District.

“We are growing Philippe Chow in cities with a global cultural impact, a strong hospitality culture and a respect for culinary luxury. Nashville is one of the few cities in the world that we think will appreciate Chef Chow’s renowned style of Chinese cuisine, our unparalleled service, and our unique high-energy ambiance,” says Abraham Merchant, CEO of Philippe Chow

“Philippe Chow is unlike anything we’ve had in Nashville before,” said Zach Liff, a Nashville native and owner of DZL. “Philippe Chow is adding a new mix of glamour, excitement and culinary excellence that will help define The Station District and elevate Nashville further in the global restaurant scene.”

An iconic restaurant for almost two decades, Philippe Chow’s first, and now flagship, location opened in Uptown Manhattan in 2005.  Since then, the restaurant has remained an undisputed favorite among New York City’s power crowd––attracting athletes, musicians, and film stars such as Rihanna, Jay-Z, Adam Sandler, and Mariah Carey (to name a few). Known for his modern, flavorful, and theatrical style, Chef Chow—the brand’s visionary and namesake—is world-renowned for his Beijing-style dishes.

Philippe Chow in Nashville will feature the brand’s exquisite family-style menu that guests around the globe have come to know and love. The restaurant is known for its classics such as Salt & Pepper Lobster; Green Prawns with stir-fried vegetables, green chili, and cashews; Glazed Spare Ribs; Filet Mignon with oyster sauce, and Chef Chow’s legendary Peking Duck, carved tableside and served with pancakes made fresh every morning. Other standout menu items include Satays, hand-pulled noodles, an array of dumplings (Duck & Cilantro, Pork Soup), sustainable seafood (Red King Crab with Ginger Scallion, Drunken Sea Bass), and other wok-prepared delicacies (Crispy Beef, Philippe’s Surf & Turf, Chicken Jo Lau). There are also several off-menu specialties available for in-the-know regulars.  The cocktail program, spearheaded by Amir Babayoff, offers playful and unique selections of spirits and ingredients such as a tropical Old fashioned with coconut, banana and cacao; Espresso Martini with Absolut Elyx, Borghetti, Amaro, Black Strap rum, Vanilla and espresso; and Lychee Martini with Bols Genever, Haku vodka, coconut, Ramazotti, Sake, rose and lychee. Babayoff most recently curated the cocktail list at NYC hotspot Ophelia, which has been consistently listed as one of the best rooftop bars in the city in leading publications.

For the design, Philippe Chow tapped award-winning design and architectural firm //3887, who took an intentionally modern approach––carefully balancing the rich culture of Chinese traditions with a fresh perspective. An opulent blend of glamor and sophistication sets the tone, with the aim to ensure guests feel pampered and enveloped in luxury no matter what the occasion.

Philippe Chow recently opened in Washington, D.C., and has confirmed six future restaurants, including the restaurant in Nashville and Miami’s SoFi neighborhood.

The lavish 10,000 square foot restaurant is sure to become a dining destination within the rapidly developing Station District joining Pullman Standard Cocktail Lounge, The Gibson Garage and the previously announced restaurant The Finch Grill & Raw Bar and the highly anticipated Cannery Hall. When the newly renovated and restored Cannery Hall opens in the coming months, it will be the largest independent music venue in Nashville with three stages and an event space. The Station District is a prime downtown neighborhood with 16 contiguous acres along 10th Avenue, starting with The Baggage Building, continuing across Demonbreun including Cummins Station and ending at Cannery Hall on 8th Avenue. The entirety of the Station District is owned and developed by Zach Liff and DZL.
