NASHVILLE – Job seekers are invited to attend a job fair on April 12 at Music City Center as the hospitality industry looks to fill open positions at a time when visitors are coming back and filling up hotels, restaurants and more. The job fair will be Tuesday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The hiring event is free and open to the public, and parking is free.
The hospitality industry job fair is hosted by the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp in partnership with the Greater Nashville Hospitality Association. There are 51 employers from the hospitality industry who are registered to participate. Positions are available at area hotels, restaurants, venues, attractions, transportation, security companies and more. Some companies will be hiring on the spot, and many are offering signing bonuses. Additional details about the job fair and an up-to-date list of employers are at visitmusiccity.com/jobfair.
“The hospitality industry is Nashville’s second-largest employer and key to our region’s economic success, so keeping the labor force strong is important to everyone,” said Kevin Lavender, Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Banking at Fifth Third Bank and chairman of the board of directors of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. “In hospitality, there is something for everyone, from summer seasonal to full-time positions in your career path to individuals looking to restart or change careers.”
The hospitality industry continues to grow, generating record visitation and visitor spending. Nashville has 255 hotels with an additional 12 properties that have opened or will open in 2022. There are 7,400 hotel rooms in the pipeline as under construction or in final planning. Restaurants continue to open, as well. Some 59 restaurants have opened or will open this year, on top of the 443 that have opened since 2018.
The job fair is a key piece of the hospitality industry’s workforce initiative called Hospitality Works. The initiative includes a jobs board at visitmusiccity.com/hospitalityworks, where employers can post jobs and job candidates can submit profiles.
Community partners for the job fair include NewsChannel5, Music City Center and Heritage Expo Services.
