NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 15, 2021) ─ Lightning 100 is now accepting submissions (2/15 - 2/28) for its thirteenth annual Music City Mayhem competition for a chance to win an extensive artist development and promotion package and inclusion in Lightning 100’s heavy airplay rotation for 12 weeks!
Music City Mayhem, Nashville’s premiere new music discovery competition, launches on February 15 and runs through April 28. Submissions to participate in Music City Mayhem are being accepted on lightning100.com from February 15 through February 28. Bands within a 30 mile radius of Nashville, Tenn. submit one song each to enter. Thirty-two bands will then be chosen to compete in Music CityMayhem’s bracket-style competition which takes place both on-air and online. Bands will be pitted in head to head matchups decided by fan vote, narrowing down the field to an eventual champion. With the safety of the bands, station staff, venue staff, and fans in mind, there will be no in-person component to the 2021competition.
The winning band will win a spot in Lightning 100’s heavy airplay rotation for twelve weeks following the competition. Additionally, the champion will win an advertising package on Lightning 100 valued at$3,200, a live broadcast performance from 3rd & Lindsley, three days of studio time with an engineer from Forty-One Fifteen Recordings, $500 credit towards legal advice from Whiskey Ghost Entertainment Law, A pair of Adam Audio A7X monitors, and ten hours of production, song development, mixing, and mastering from Basement 3 Productions, a 6 month Red6 membership to Ridenour Rehearsal Studios, and a $300 gift card to Gruhn Guitars.
Music City Mayhem garners an average of nearly 300 band submissions each year and has reached more than one million fan votes over the past eleven years. Past Music City Mayhem winners include Fulton Lee, Creature Comfort, Paul McDonald, Smooth Hound Smith, Roots Of A Rebellion and Moon Taxi.
