Nashville Zoo is proud to announce that Grammy Award winner Keith Urban will join our October 8, prime-time event From Nashville Zoo with Love, Presented by News 2. The TV fundraiser will air from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. on WKRN TV and will also feature Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, and Amy Grant. Scott Hamilton and News 2’s Neil Orne will host the broadcast which will also stream on WKRN’s website and the Zoo's Facebook page.
“Having Keith perform to help the Zoo is so exciting,” said Suzanne Iler, Nashville Zoo’s Chief Development Officer. “We are truly thankful to have so many local celebrities generously offer their time and talent to help Nashville Zoo secure vital philanthropic support, and I'm looking forward to seeing them all on October 8.”
In addition to the musical performances, From Nashville Zoo with Love, Presented by News 2 will highlight Nashville Zoo’s award-winning exhibits, outstanding animal care, and commitment to conservation. Some of the Zoo’s ambassador animals will make live, in-studio appearances during the program. Other features of the show include cameos from other local celebrities and an online auction featuring special Zoo animal experiences and an autographed guitar from Taylor Swift.
After three months of closure, and reopening with greatly reduced attendance, Nashville Zoo is facing a significant budget shortfall this year. Viewers of the event will be encouraged to help support the Zoo by donating through text or online. More information about the fundraiser can be found here.
