BRITISH AIRWAYS’ FIRST CLASS FLYING IN NASHVILLE
New York, Dec.12 - - British Airways will start flying its state of the art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner between Nashville and London from Mar. 31, 2019, offering customers a choice of four cabins, including First.
British Airways began flying between Nashville International Airport and London Heathrow in May 2018, with the 787-8 Dreamliner and recently announced it will operate a daily service next summer. From March, First class will be introduced to the Nashville community for the summer season, offering eight First suites with fully flat beds.
New First
Redesigned to put comfort at the heart of the experience, each First suite is gently lit with ambient lighting. Customers have extra storage space, including room for shoes, handbags and personal items, a personal suiter for jackets and coats accessible from the seat, and a discreet charging point area next to their armrest.
The seat and in-flight entertainment console has been updated with a new smartphone-like handset, from which customers can simultaneously watch one item, such as the moving map, while also watching a film, on the new fixed 23inch widescreen.
787-900 Dreamliner
British Airways’ state of the art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will accommodate eight customers in the new First cabin, 42 seats in Club World (business class), 39 in World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and 127 in World Traveller (economy). Designed to enhance customer wellbeing, the fuel-efficient aircraft operates with a lower pressurization, reducing the effects of jet lag for customers while the aircraft’s smooth ride technology reduces the effect of turbulence. Soothing mood lighting in every cabin gradually adjusts to reflect the time of day and the large windows feature electronic dimming switches.
All British Airways customers can enjoy complimentary checked baggage, free meals and bar service, along with extensive on-demand movies, TV and music options on their personal TV screens.
Enhanced Entertainment
British Airways' 787 features the airline's new Thales entertainment system. Each seat has a television screen and customers can choose from more than 700 hours of content, including 230 TV programs, 70 movies and 400 music albums and interactive games. Travelers can also chat and play games with friends elsewhere on the aircraft using an in-seat chat system.
