Artist: Music City Murals and Anthony Billups Las Palmas unveiled a new mural "La Catrina Gone Country" at the downtown Hayes Street location.
It is a tribute to both Nashville and Hispanic-Mexican cultures, two things very near and dear to the Las Palmas family.
Drawing inspiration from Mexico and the brightly colored skulls associated with Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), the mural centers around La Catrina, a symbol of this annual Mexican holiday. It is also an ode to Music City, featuring Johnny Cash, June Carter, Roy Orbison, Chet Atkins, Freddy Fender, Taylor Swift, Hank Williams Sr., Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson.
Parking spots next to the mural will be available for photos from 2-5pm on weekdays and until 3pm on weekends.
