MUSIC CITY CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Nashville will once again give locals and visitors a free July 4th celebration with a spectacular concert and fireworks display at Riverfront Park. The City's 4th of July celebration was ranked among the Top 11 displays in the U.S. and granted the title of "The Most Musical Boom" by AOL City Guide in June, 2007. Performers for "Music City July 4th: Let Freedom Sing!" presented by Southwest Airlines include Big Machine Records' Taylor Swift; Curb recording artist Rodney Atkins; Columbia Records duo Van Zant and the Grammy-nominated Nashville Symphony, which will provide the music for both the performers and the fireworks. The national anthem will be performed by singer/songwriter Keni Thomas, a former Army Ranger and member of the elite Task Force Ranger.

The festivities will begin downtown at Noon with the free Family Fun Zone featuring inflatable's for all ages, sponsored by Kroger and Coca-Cola. Pre-show live music from the The Dirt Drifters, Dead Country Band, Chris Janson and award-winning singer/songwriter Jeffrey Steele will take place from 2-6 p.m. The official two-hour concert will kick-off at 8 p.m. and will be aired live nationally on Great American Country Network (GAC) in its entirety and locally on NewsChannel 5. The musical entertainment can be heard on 103 WKDF and 104.5 The Zone.
