Nashville is one of only six cities in the nation where three interstates connect. I-65 connects the city with Louisville, Indianapolis, and Chicago to the north and Birmingham, Montgomery, and Mobile to the south. Nashville is bisected by I-40, an east-west freeway that also passes through cities that include Asheville, Knoxville, Memphis, Little Rock, and Oklahoma City. I-24 crosses the city from the northwest to the southeast, providing convenient travel from St. Louis, Chattanooga, and Atlanta.

Nashville International Airport (BNA) welcomed a record-breaking 21.9 million passengers in 2023, making it one of the fastest growing airports in North America. Live music at Nashville International Airport welcomes guests in true Music City style and sends them off with a song. There are six performance areas located in the terminal, hosting 700+ performances of all music genres each year. You might just see a familiar face like Keith Urban do a surprise performance. 

Ground Transportation

WeGo Public Transit, ride-share, shuttles, taxis, rental cars, and limousine service are available from the airport. All commercial operators pick up at the Ground Transportation Center on Level 1 of Terminal Garage 2. View all transportation options at BNA. 

• Taxis: Nashville features a flat-fee service triangle between the airport, downtown, and Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. From point to point, taxi fares are currently set at $30 per cab within the triangle, plus an additional passenger charge of $2. For trips outside the triangle, view the approximate fares from the airport. 

• Buses: WeGo Public Transit provides hourly service between downtown and the airport seven days a week. One-way fares between the airport and downtown are available for $2. 

• Rental Cars: Rental Car service is located on Level 1 of the Main Terminal - take the escalators down one level from Baggage Claim areas.

• Parking: There are two Terminal Airport Garages as well as three Surface Parking Lots. See real-time parking capacity.

WeGo Public Transit provides 27 local bus routes and nine regional routes. All rides are only $2. WeGo Central, WeGo Public Transit's downtown transit station, is located next to Municipal Auditorium. Learn how to ride.

Taxi services are available throughout Nashville by phone through a variety of companies including Magic Taxi, Music City Cab, NashVegas Cab, and Yellow Cab. Taxi drivers are required to go through a customer service and Nashville city knowledge training program by NCVC to get their Transportation License.

The WeGo Star has seven stations along the route between Lebanon (east of town) and the destination station at Riverfront Park in downtown Nashville. Upon arrival at the Riverfront Park station, passengers can board one of two WeGo Public Transit buses at no additional cost: one circulates downtown and one goes to West End/Belmont. Trains operate Monday-Friday during peak commuter hours, plus a late train on Friday with a 10:30pm departure from the Riverfront Park station.
