Introducing the Nashville Scene’s 2022 Movies in the Park Lineup

Movies in the Park, Presented by Amazon, Returns for its 28th Season.

Nashville, Tenn. - In partnership with the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, the Nashville Film Festival and 96.3 Jack FM, the Nashville Scene’s annual Movies in the Park, presented by Amazon, returns for its 28th season — making it Nashville’s longest-running outdoor movie series. The free-to-attend event series is family- and pet-friendly and recognized as one of the city’s best annual events, consistently placing in the annual Best of Nashville Readers’ Poll results for Best Free Fun.

The four-part series will take place Thursday evenings in June at Elmington Park — that’s June 2, 9, 16 and 23. The festivities kick off at 5 p.m. with food trucks, vendors, games and giveaways, and the screenings begin at sundown, typically around 8 p.m. This year’s film lineup includes Ghostbusters: Afterlife (June 2), The Princess Diaries (June 9), Black Widow (June 16) and Encanto (June 23). In case a summer storm decides to pass through, the reserved rain date is June 30. New this year, all films will be shown in open caption for the D/deaf and hard of hearing.

"It’s a good time! You've got all the vendors, you’ve got all the people, and you get to see a movie under a beautiful sky,” says Gina Wells, owner of Miss Kitty’s Dog Resort, one of many sponsors participating in the series for years. Over the years, the Nashville Scene’s Movies in the Park series has become a tradition with attendees looking forward to the event every summer and families returning year after year for a night of free family fun for all ages.

Attendees are encouraged to come hungry, as food will be available for purchase from more than 10 local vendors, including Ben & Jerry’s, Cousins Maine Lobster, Daddy’s Dogs, Dreamers Nashville, Franklin’s Fruit Tea, HauteWheels Rolling Sandwich Co., Hifi Cookies, Marigold Gourmet Popcorn, Pie Town Tacos, Retro Sno and Riptide Acai.

This free event is made possible by the support of Movies in the Park sponsors and partners including Amazon, Nashville SC, Miss Kitty’s Dog Resort, Nashville Opera, The Harpeth Hall School, The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Compost Nashville, Seal Smart and 80 Acres Farms.
