Nashville Sports Council’s Virtual 5K Aimed at Rallying Sports Community, Helping Drive Local Economy

Participants Can Win Tickets to Future SEC, Big Ten Championship Game.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – As the city anticipates the return of sports, the Nashville Sports Council is holding a virtual 5K that embodies that eagerness and aimed at helping the local economy rebound.
The Sports Council’s “Run for the Return Virtual 5K” presented by Team Construction kicks off Friday, June 12 and will run through Sunday, June 21.

Participants are encouraged to walk, jog or run in their favorite team gear, post to social media accompanied by #NashvilleSports and show which sports team they are representing.

Registration is now open at NashvilleSports.com/virtual-5K.

Those who register will be entered to win prizes such as tickets a future SEC or Big Ten Championship game*, tickets to the TransPerfect Music City Bowl* and two tickets to the first game back for Nashville’s pro sports teams.

The first 50 to register will receive a free Fossil watch and all participants will receive a complimentary gift courtesy of the Sports Council.

“We’re excited to offer a safe, socially distant event during these challenging times,” Scott Ramsey, President/CEO of the Nashville Sports Council, said. “Our mission at the Sports Council is to help spur the local economy, bring the sports community together and help Nashville remain the Best Sports City in the nation.

“We’re eager for sports to return and we hope with the community’s support, to continue to help the sports scene thrive in the Music City.”

Proceeds from the event will help the Nashville Sports Council continue to support the local economy. The Sports Council’s lineup of events through 2022 is projected to deliver over $220 million in economic impact and nearly 150 hours of national media exposure.
