The Third Annual "Reduce. Reuse. Repeat."

3rd Annual Recycling and Sustainability Fundraiser takes place July 20, 2019 “Reduce. Reuse. Repeat." Presented by Kroger: Zero Hunger, Zero Waste Benefiting Turnip Green Creative Reuse.

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE (July 3, 2019) – The third annual “Reduce. Reuse. Repeat.” fundraiser to benefit Turnip Green Creative Reuse’s (TGCR) mission of fostering creativity and sustainability through reuse takes place on July 20, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. at Indo, 632 Fogg St. Nashville, TN 37203.

In 2018, more than 35,000 people received education related to reducing, reusing, recycling, creativity and sustainability.  Through partnerships with Kroger, Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, Metro Nashville Public Schools, Nashville Public Libraries, Metro Beautification, Piedmont Natural Gas, Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, and many other non-profit organizations, TGCR is able to offer education related to healthy habits about sustainability and recycling. TGCR has diverted nearly 300 tons of material from the landfill and into the hands of educators and creatives, and helped hundreds of local artists by providing materials and exhibition opportunities.

“Nashville will become a more sustainable and green city if we make sure our children understand the importance of reuse and recycling,” says Leah Sherry, executive director of Turnip Green Creative Reuse. “Early exposure to recycling and sustainability education encourages environmentally conscious decision-making. Our education programs are built with kids in mind and designed to be fun while fulfilling our mission of fostering creativity and sustainability through reuse.”
