Take a holiday carriage ride or trolley tour and support the Hillsboro-West End neighborhood.

Take a carriage ride through one of Nashville's famous neighborhoods.

Nashville, TN — November 12, 2019 — The Hillsboro-West End Neighborhood Association (HWEN) has announced their eighth annual Holiday Lights Carriage & Trolley Tours on Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8 in the heart of this historic neighborhood and retail district. The event will feature horse-drawn carriages clip-clopping through the district known for gracious vintage homes and stunning displays of holiday lights. And, new this year, take a ride with friends and family on the Old Town Jolly Trolley on Saturday, December 7. The trolley will pick up and drop off near Hillsboro Village where the annual “A Holiday in Hillsboro Village” celebration will be taking place from 4 to 7 p.m.

About the Carriage Rides:
The hospitality center for the carriage rides, where the tours begin, will be located at the Nashville First Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 2800 Blair Blvd. Parking is free. Saturday tours begin at 5 p.m. and the last tour starts at 8:30 p.m. On Sunday, the tours begin at 4:30 p.m. and the last tour leaves at 8 p.m. Come early and enjoy free hot beverages and refreshments.

Attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather, but extra blankets will be available, too. If weather conditions make roads unsafe for passengers or the horses, we will cancel the event and contact ticket holders as soon as possible. A light rain or snow will not automatically cancel the tours; all the carriages have a roof.

Gentle, well trained horses, professional drivers and comfortable carriages will be provided by Sugar Creek Carriages, the same established company that offers carriage rides in downtown Nashville.

For the fifth year, HWEN is offering a more personal carriage added on the streets during the Carriage Tours. It’s the sporty Regal Ride, which holds up to six people and offers a broader view and is perfect for small groups. This was very popular last year and sold out quickly.

Free parking will be available behind the church and across the street in the church parking lot.

About the Old Town Jolly Trolley:
The hospitality center for the trolley tours will be located in the parking lot at 24th and Belcourt Ave. across from Dragon Park (AKA Fannie Mae Dees Park) near Hillsboro Village. The 30-minute tour will take riders through Hillsboro Village where the local retail establishments will be celebrating "A Holiday in Hillsboro Village." Then, the trolley will travel through the neighborhood to see the festive homes decked with holiday decorations. The tour includes hot cider, cookies and the tour guides will give passengers a little neighborhood history and the opportunity to sing seasonal carols. The trolley is heated and ADA accessible.

Free and low-cost parking will be available around Hillsboro Village. A list of parking locations will be online at www.hwen.org. Please come early to find parking because the trolley will be leaving the hospitality center promptly at 5, 6, 7and 8 p.m. Riders are encouraged to enjoy the festivities taking place in Hillsboro Village either before or after the ride. The shops will be offering special sales, restaurants will have holiday-themed beverages and Santa will also make an appearance (location is be disclosed closer to the event).
